Project Description: Employees from CHUBB were given the opportunity to help out one of the Mayor’s
Office of Education’s Community Schools by helping with South Philadelphia High School’s clothing closet.
Southern realized that sometimes students and their families face financial difficulties where they cannot afford
new clothes, shoes, accessories, etc., so the school started a clothing closet. People, including staff, alumni,
local families, etc., donate clothes to the school and then those clothes are placed on hangers and put on
racks for students to browse, and when they find something they like, the student can have it for free. CHUBB
volunteers helped rearrange the clothing closet, and helped add a new addition to the closet for toiletries. The
closet also got a fresh new mural painted on one of the walls, and small dressing rooms were created for the
students to try things on. The students at South Philadelphia High School were so happy to see their clothing
closet spruced up for the new school year!
