Place Based Initiatives VISTA

 About The VISTA Member:
About The VISTA Position:

The Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity (CEO) has introduced a strategic plan focused on economic mobility for Philadelphia's most vulnerable residents. One component of this plan is to employ place focused initiatives that use a collective impact model. The role of the Place Based Initiatives VISTA will be to develop, standardize, and share best practices for effective economic mobility work.

Grace graduated from New York University with a B.S. in Media, Culture, and Communications. Given her passion for social justice and her interest in journalism, she was constantly uncovering stories that revealed the deeply rooted systematic inequalities of our nation's most disenfranchised communities. For this reason, she made the decision to move back to her hometown of Philadelphia and apply for a position as an AmeriCorps VISTA. She hopes that she can serve her community to the best of her ability while also learning more about what it means to be a catalyst for change. She is excited to work with city's Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity, and looks forward to all the new experiences in the upcoming year.
