1 community garden weeded and prepared for the winter months
Project Description: Better Tomorrows is a non-profit organization that provides social services to residents of affordable housing communities and surrounding community members. There are four components to Better Tomorrows’ mission: economic stability, educational success, healthy lifestyles, and strong communities. The healthy lifestyles component aims to introduce residents to healthy foods, therefore over the summer, Better Tomorrows developed a community garden on Berks Street. As the winter approaches, the garden must be prepared for the winter months, so volunteers from UBM helped mulch the garden and prep it for the winter season. Residents on Berks Street are more than grateful for UBM coming and helping prep their community garden for the winter months!
