 About The VISTA Member:

Born and raised in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, I have called Philadelphia home for the past four years while working towards my degree at Temple University where I completed my bachelor's in political science and economics with a certificate in ethics. I previously worked as a research assistant on the Pennsylvania Policy Database Project at the Institute for Public Affairs along with internships at various nonprofits in the area. My growing love for Philadelphia, knowledge, and public service led me to Serve Philadelphia and this position specifically. In my free time you can catch me hanging out with my friends or my cat Zoe.

About The VISTA Position:

The VISTA will help build capacity to implement Philadelphia’s new workforce strategy. The VISTA’s project focuses on a specific recommendation from the plan: to address underlying literacy and digital skill barriers that prevent over 550,000 Philadelphians from accessing meaningful careers. The VISTA will be helping OAE research workforce education and training programs that address literacy barriers. This research would be used to expand and update existing standards for workforce education and sustainability. Ultimately, the VISTA will help OAE develop trainings and tools for adult education providers, employers, and other stakeholders that address these barriers effectively.
